The Effects of Catecholamine on Renal Hemodynamics in the Anesthetized Dogs
Abstract
The responses elicited by catecholamines in the renal circulation are important in management of congestive heart failure following open heart surgery. Because the renal vascular resistance is abnormally elevated in this state, consideratoins
must
be
made when these drugs are used in patients with this condition. It is important that drugs used in the treatment of low cardiac output syndrome do not further increase the elevated vascular tone that exists in this bed.
@ES The results were as follows;
@EN 1) Dopamine increased renal blood flow compared with the control values at doses of 1, 5 and 10 §¶/kg/min and the peak renal blood flow was revealed at the dose of 5§¶/kg/min. Dobutamine did not significantly increase renal blood flow and
norepinephrine reduced renal blood flow by increasing the dose.
